[Unattended] EDD information not available

Hello everybody,

we are using linuxboot via PXE (version 4.9) to setup several computers. It
works very fine so far, but now we have a problem. We have two different
machines to install with linuxboot. One of them works perfectly but the
other one bring up an error during the boot with the following message:

***Now we will load the EDD module...
Loading edd...
BIOS EDD facility v0.16.2004-Jun-25, 0 devices found
EDD information not available.
FATAL: Error insereting edd
(/lib/modules/2.6.32.0/kernel/drivers/firmware/e
): No such device
...done loading edd
*** ...and locate the boot device
/sys/firmware/int13_dev00 directory not found (did you load edd.o modul
t /usr/bin/find-boot-device line 9.
***find-boot-device failed
***Dropping to shell

Where is the problem? Ok, the EDD modules are not available because he
didn`t find. But why work the linuxboot with the other PC?
May you need the system data of the machine with the problems:

Pentium D
Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H
Western Digital WD5000AAKS

Try changing the SATA controller for the hard drive to run in IDE
compatible mode. This is done via the BIOS configuration menu at boot
time.

Many people of the community seem to be using 4.9 version of
unattended (me not up to now, have no time enough to test it; just the
updates I use, no hw detect...).

I sometimes check the website to see if there are news and found no
info about releasing the 4.9 finally. Is it because there is less time
on your hands, too :) or the project moved to somewhere else? :S

hey, there is nothing to say sorry! :) we are the ones, who use this
great stuff :) and the to say THANKS :) I was just curious (my boss is
courious about win7 support, but I said him to wait :D) and I thought
I missed the release because of the move of the official site or so.

Is just a matter of time. There is a couple of bugs that I would like to fix
before release it. That is all, I am sorry :-)

Hello Conrad Lawes,

that didn`t solve the problem. We have already change the modes to IDE
compatible, AHCI, or RAID. Still the same problem...

Maybe there is another solution?
